Singhu Border Residents And Traders Feels Relaxed After Modi Govt Announcement Of Farm Laws Repeal

Farm Laws News: The Narendra Modi government on Friday announced the withdrawal of all three agriculture laws. With this decision of the Center, people and traders living around the Singhu border have breathed a sigh of relief. The farmers who had been agitating for more than a year had blocked the roads, due to which people had to face a lot of trouble.

Thousands of farmers from Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh had been demanding the repeal of three agricultural laws at the Delhi borders since November 26 last year. PM Modi announced on Friday morning that the Center will repeal three agriculture laws. The process of withdrawal of law will be completed in the Parliament session starting from November 29. Along with this, a committee will be formed regarding the issues related to MSP.

Businessmen were upset, now there is some hope

Sandeep Lochan, who runs a construction shop on the Singhu border, said that the business has fallen by 10 percent. He said, ‘First the corona virus affected the business. For the past one year, my business has suffered further due to farmers’ protests. Business has fallen by 10 percent as compared to earlier. It will take around six months to a year for the business to get back on track.

Jaipal Sharma of Khatkar village near Singhu border said that roads have been damaged due to increase in traffic in the interior areas. Sharma, a retired employee of Delhi Transport Corporation, said that after the announcement of repeal of agricultural laws, we hope that our life will be back on track soon.

A thick layer of dust settled on the shops

Many shops are closed near Delhi border. A thick layer of dust has accumulated on his shutter. Celebrations broke out at the protest site at the Singhu border soon after the repeal of agricultural laws was announced, but some farmers said the agitation would continue until Parliament repealed the bills and the government accepted their other demands. Amit Gupta, who runs a bike spare parts shop near Singhu Border, said he had even thought of changing the location of his shop. He told that his shop was completely closed for two months.
